the nurgling lord
i am currently designing that would need a small chamber where water must be super heated. all i want to find out at the moment is what type of material will heat up the quickest and to the highest temperature?

(considering i want to get it to 30,000 degrees.c, or is that impossible)

im just trying out different ideas. please help me.

30,000°C is six times hotter than the Sun. Your chamber would have to be as big as a house to prevent accidental sublimination. The high temperature also rules out any possibilities of building your chamber out of a solid material. Find a substance with good thermal conductivity, as they heat up the quickest.

According to my limited knowledge, ultra-pressurized carbon has a melting point of 3,500°C, the highest melting point for any known element. Both tantalum carbide and hafnium carbide have melting points of around 3,890°C, making them the most refractory binary compounds known to man.

Since any solid materials within ten metres of the plasma would subliminate directly into a gas, you would need to immerse the chemicals in a mixture of water and oil.

What exactly is this for anyway? Are you trying to make plasma?

Do you just need just high temperature or both high temperatire and pressure? One way you might get the temperature is with an induction coil. Essentially it is a cylindrical copper coil with water flowing through it to keep the copper cool. The copper coil itself has electricity running through it. What is slick about this arrangment is that highest temperature will form within induction space within the coil.

That's a great idea, but it would be a bit hard to prevent the copper from melting, even with water flowing inside. How cold would the water have to be to prevent thermal equillibrium from setting in?

I'm getting interested about this topic too.

The beauty of an induction coil is that the coil doesn't really get that hot. The temperature is levitated in the middle inside the winding of the coil. The hazzard is connected mixing water with electricity. It is best to get equipment off the self instead of tying to improvise. Practice before improvising.
