I had out of body dreams for years.

In meditation upon how I had out of body images of my own bod, I have run into ideas like the body exiting a fly (proving the theory that non-clinging or egoless states will give you enlightened sensibilities, or they ar enot encumbered with anonymouse klingers).

When I could see out of a high rise wall while just closing my eyes, my meditation evoked images of fine fibre produced and wired by cockraoches. Yukch!

Perhaps the experience that epileptics had ( and I have also had this problem) reflects a tiny third-entity form, which is acting like the persons" "personal telsat".

Or, I think we usually have an image interpreter, like a bird, fly, flower, or gems in rock areas.

By "out of body dreams" do you mean that you are in a deep state of meditation similar to dreaming? In dreams, pretty much anything is possible and becoming aware, I flew in a dream last night (trouble is it usually lasts for not too many seconds.)

People take drugs to "heighten senses" but what it really does is distorts their sense of reality.

people think out of body experiences are impossible. I beg to differ since by writing these words i am communicating many of my own thoughts and dreams over a out of body experience. By writing the word thought alone it invokes a strange aura over the mind and here i am over in Toronto Canada! HA! Do that suckers.........................................

Experiments with oxygen deprivation has produced out of body experiences, even light at the end of the tunnel death experiences.
