FUD! (Fear Uncertainty & Doubt) The only reason this "exploit" worked was because Miller used his iPhone and he allowed his passcodes to be accessed. In the Apple OS X world, it is impossible to access your personal details without the party knowing your personal passcode or the administrator"s passcode. Just will not work.

If you are foolish enough to enter your system passcode on an "outside" website (most especially an unfamiliar one), then you don"t deserve to own an iPhone! Actually, stay off the net! Do not read this article. Unplug your computer and go back to reading Archie comics.

Well, ISE"s website got plenty of hits and the NYT offered another poorly researched "technical" article. These guys are too used to the world of Windozes...

Try a Mac and you will discover what it means to have ZERO Viruses, Infectons, Spyware, Trojan Horses, Adware, (V.I.S.T.A.) or popups, and the rest of the claptrap that goes with that almost monoploistic garbage that is called Windows. (climbs down off soap box)!

You also failed to mention what Rubin (the founder of ISE) said when asked if he would give up his iPhone; "You’d have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands to get it away from me,” he said.

If you are going to report all the news fit to print - then report it all!

Having worked in the IT field for over 13 years, I'd say that this is a bit of an exaggeration. Sure, there are less virii, etc., written for the MAC but they are out there. If not, why do you think that Virex antivirus software is made for MACS. Trouble is, you may well be infected and not even know it. One time I cleaned no less than 50 virii off Macs in a computer lab.

On the other hand, neither of my Windows PCs (on which I have run the Mac OS in various flavors) nor my Sun SPARCstation have had a virus in many years. And, there are a few multiplatform viruses out there. Anybody can get a trojan horse. All it takes is being fooled once.
Little snitch
If you scan your system and use Little snitch to inform you of any program trying to access the internet you would be safe. Little snitch can allow you to deny any network traffic you choose. Problem solved.
