A jet aircraft is climbing at an angle of 41° above the horizontal and is also accelerating at 4.7 m/s2. What is the total force that the cockpit seat exerts on the 67 kg pilot?
a)Magnitude
N
b)Direction
° above the direction of motion of the plane
(I got 314.9 and 131 degrees for both)

a' = 41 , a = 4.7 m/s/s , m =67 kg
free body diagramed:
F = ma so since the dude is sitting on the chair and since he is moving at an acceleration of a so then the normal perpendicular to his back and the chair is dominationg over the component of his weight that is pussing into the chair resulting in his motion.
so call the tension out of chair T, we have
T - mg sina' = ma
so T = ma + mgsina'
we have,
T = 67*4.7 + 67*9.8*sin41 = 745 N (assuming his back is supporting him) I mean if his butt is also holding up at an angle that is a different story.
