Respected Sir,
Nano-technology will be driving force of engineering and physics I am an undergraduate aspiring for IIT(Indian institute of technology) and what I wanted to know which branch in engineering i mean for graduation computer, electrical or mechanical is good for pursuing a career mix of in nanotechnology and quantum physics or more in physics.

Well, if your more interested in physics, transfer into a physics program. If you would rather work in nanotechnology, you can get there from any of the disiplines you listed, however the best bet is in Electrical Engineering. I work in an open access Nanofab facility, and the majority of users are from Electrical Engineering.

can anybody tell me some books for nanotechnology i mean for starting and introductory purpose.

Materials science and chemistry are also good fields to enter nanotechnology. Molecular monolayers play a key role in nanostructures, e.g. coating of nanotubes and nanowires.

K. Eric Drexler has edited or authored some books for general audience on Nanotechnology. I think they were the first ones I encountered in the field.

What do you think is the best way to make nano-tech base is it graduate level study of physics? or is it graduate level chemistry or it is some thing else independent?

they are of appin and nstc but the most imp thing for you as a comp graduate can be programming used for tools that work at nanoscale materials or quantum computing, here i think physics and comp science is the key for detials see my site or email me,
but the best thing is get help from a comp major in nanotech, i am intrested in nanoe and post mosfet nanoe. may be read some physics and comp science and try to do some programming clubbing laws of physics , maths and comp programming to get a new program think innovative and think different.
