Thanks to Antonio Pocobi, this is a good thread for me to present a complex case of scientific proof of Evolution at work, in our body everyday—or a complicated-made-simple answer to another fine thread Where is the scientific proof that Evolution has taken place? (listed in this forum).
1) The Evolution of cells in our body: In a rough estimate, our adult body contains about 100 trillion cells, with all growing into over 200 distinctive cell types; which must now coordinately and differentially grow, develop into the various functional tissues and organs in our body-system (please see my book Gods, Genes, Conscience for the Evolution of our body-system, including our brain).
Briefly, at different generation rates, all cell types are derived from their genetically-programmed precursor stem cells; in a process dubbed cell differentiation, at which time, a cell division and growth will take place.
2) The Evolution of cancer cells: The normal cell differentiation, growth, and function are directed and controlled by our genes—the informative genetic macromolecule that contains a long string of DNA (a deoxyribonucleic acid molecule which in humans may contain a helical strand of as many as over 3 billion nucleotides long, all being twisted, coiled, and packaged in the nucleus as a chromosome.
During the cell division, depending on each environment, genetic mutations may occur along the DNA molecule. In a normal condition, cell repairs (or killings by our immune system) may take care of any mutations; whereas in a cancerous situation, cell transformation from mutation will prevail; and at which time cell divisions may become uncontrollable, giving rise therefore to a spontaneous tumor that now may or may not be cancerous, depending on the severity of its DNA mutation and cellular transformation.
Specifically, in the article reported above, the transformed cells have had evolved (or equipped) to produce a protective protein, that will dull the normal killer-immune cells; thus a tumor prevails. If this tumor is cancerous, it will soon grow and spread uncontrollably in the body, and eventually kill the host as an outcome! All thanks to the power of Evolution, in good or bad!
In addition, to complicate the Evolution of cancers further, the cell transformation may also be genetically induced by viral particles (such as papilloma viruses) and varied carcinogenic (or tumorigenic) chemicals. So far, over 100 types of cancer (originating from different cell types) have had been identified and classified in humans, all as the products of Evolution that has had run amok in our body. And therefore, each patient with cancer will have to be treated individually, uniquely.
As such, with a good conscience, ethically and morally, Creationism or ID neocreationism needs not apply in our life and disease situations, especially in Biomedical Science and Biology!

And, of course, the health of our body is all dependent on our intakes of healthy food, air, water, and exercise; and so on, and so forth.

3) Yes, by appropriate experimentations, the growth and distribution of cell populations can be derived and expressed in a fractal, whereupon every cell is unique in nature, as viewed from a quantum perspective.
Furthermore, in normal growth conditions—for cells that are grown by tissue culture biotechnology—the cell cycle (or the time for each cell division) in cancer is about 24-72 hours; whereas cell divisions in a normal cell population generally will cease at cell maturity; unless we’ve had artificially induced them to mutate and transform into tumor cells by either viruses, chemical carcinogens, or even ultra violet radiation, as we discussed before.
4) Last but not least, in Evolution, the genetic apparatus that you referred to is more opportunistic than deterministic in nature. Our gene expression will only operate whenever the immediate cell microenvironment is favorable biologically. In our healthy body—a multicellular organism that contains about 100 trillion cells, as I described before—the opportunity or chance for any genetic mutation, cell transformation, is enormous; not to mention the fact that we are now living in an Industrial Age of rampant air, water, chemical pollutions worldwide!
