I"m not a physicist but I am a fan of new technology. My line of work is more with product design at the R&D level. This nanotech windshield would be a great application for the makers of this car:

www.commutercars.com

It"s a narrow, electric car that can compete with a Viper on the dragstrip. It has over 2000 lbs. of mass from the batteries and motors so it has a really low center of gravity. However, it lacks a windshield wiper.

Would this nanotech application to the windshield bead water off of the glass eliminating the need for a wiper and all the necessary hardware? If so, that would save a great deal material waste.

To address your question:

Being as the vehicle does not have a windshield wiper at all, treating the windshield with Nanoprotect Autoglass would be a definite help. As the vehicle speed increases the rain dops will blow off the surface especially during a heavy downpour. Low speeds and or light rain, spray up from other vehicles would be the exception. However, windshields treated with the Nanotec "Nanoprotect Autoglass" offer improved visibility at all speeds and rain force. Side windows treated with Nanoprotect Autoglass also make driving safer since the water blows across and rearward, leaving a clearer view even in hard driving rain.

We have applied the Nanoprotect autoglass to several race cars to include a Chevy Cobalt NHRA Drag Car for testing. They are interested in the product to make cleaning the melted rubber and other oily residue from the windows after each race.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have that I did not address in this reply. Feel free to call me at (703) 494-6700 or E-mail wsweld@comcast.net
