I know the Wulff construction gives the equilibrium shape of the crystal when we plot the polar representation of surface energy. But how do we know what the energy values of desired surface planes which we have to plot are?
I am confused because I think that if we now those energies, we know the planes and further the shape, so we don't need to plot the Wulff construction.

Could anyone explain me this?
