Is anything being done to address the increasing world population? Despite the current figure being responsible for many of our problems.

Not only do I think any increase problematic, but that even maintaining current world population is not going to be an ideal value.

Some people object to propositions for a lower world population, but I wonder where their priorities are. It’s not difficult to see that a higher target market is financially beneficial. So who has to the most to lose from a lower world population? I assume that an ever-increasing world population is a source of increasing financial profitability.

The top result when searching for "ideal world population" is a total debunk of the idea and is from the economics department of a university.

I couldn't find anything when I searched this site either.

With all the talk these days of lowering emissions and reducing stress on the Earth's resources, surely the best long-term solution is to have a lower population?

Planet Earth is loaded with room. We could put the world's entire population into the United States. Doing so would make our population density 1,531 people per square mile. That's a far lower population density than what now exists in New York (11,440), Los Angeles (9,126) and Houston (7,512). The entire U.S. population could move to Texas and each family of four would enjoy 2.9 acres of land. If the entire world's population moved to Texas, California, Colorado and Alaska, each family of four would enjoy nine-tenths of an acre of land.

Works for me. Let's move the entire worlds population to the U.S. and leave the rest of the world in a natural state. I'm sure there would be no problem in acquiring the necessary resources to maintain that vision of Paradise.

YES,, as we speak Iran is installing more centrifuges for enrichment. when they have the needed materials,,, well you get the point.
that should take care of over population and global warming all at the same time.

They're going to offer vacation packages to their nuclear sterilization clinics. Discount rates will be offered to non Muslims.

As Holland and Italy are wealthy and Mali is poor, it should be obvious that we need much more population.

As for Iran, I'm certainly uneasy with their centrifuges... But on the other hand, it's been centuries since Iran attacked militarily another country - just compare to some who already have nukes and even used them.

Obviously, population equals wealth.

Neither China, India or Indonesia make the top 25, despite being the top 3 most populous countries on Earth.

Re; Should world population be controlled?

Answers>The world population should be thinned by letting the people go to other reaches of space rather than killing them off with other means.
This is so, as the human herd, in reality is a biological crop, so therefore responds to Mendellion RNA input via the cell apparatus.

So in later times, the future generations would be kariotyped to be tailored, but then possibly become a sub cult of cannibals, as their levels of organ awareness inventiveness, would have been stifled.
So the easiest thing to do now, is tell the truth about space, let people make contact, and let go of the excess population this way.

If you do it the other way, there is always sectoral hostility built up in the nature of the creatures held.
Examples would be, that a woman falls in love with a man. Then makes love to him, but after they’re done cuts his head off and sees nothing wrong with this process.

Another example would be having five to four children, but calmly choosing one or two to butcher And eat at a later date.
Forcing people as intelligent as they are, to remain here on Earth, presents some dire consequences later on.

If there is one thing that removing excess population is certain to do, it is to make room for more increases in population. Without some form of control this is inevitable. Colonising space would see the same growth in the colonies except it would be worse because of the constant migration from Earth (and eventually from other established colonies). What you are suggesting is like trying to control a virus in a host by moving some of it to another host: not only will the virus continue to replicate in the original host but you have also spread the problem, and now face an exponential spread to a finite supply of hosts.

The poll question is not regarding methods of population control, and certainly does not advocate violence or totalitarianism - it is asking if there should be some [as yet unestablished] form of population control.

I am interested to hear why people have said no to the poll question. Is it because they feel a freedom would be taken away? Not all freedoms are equal entitlements, and the result of a freedom to overpopulate the Earth is certainly not without victims. Freedom of press has victims, but most societies tolerate that because of the benefits. Freedom to bear arms has victims, and less societies tolerate that due to there being less benefits to weight it. Freedom to kill someone for annoying you has victims and I’m not aware of anywhere in the world where this is tolerated (though people with power who abuse that power may get away with such an act, it is not a freedom for all). Where does freedom to overpopulate the Earth stand? Does society tolerate such a freedom or is it simply ignorance?

How long did it take you to figure that out?

In my last post, I was comparing to population density.

You won't see an advantage in voiding a country with these figures neither.
