ive been trying to understand what the basic idea of string theory is through youtube videos, and its just not working. does anybody have any good links or anything that could help me out?

The string theory can be understood by intuitive way just through AWT, which explains the strings as a dense fluctuations of hypothetical inertial environment, forming the vacuum (aka Aether). You cannot because you make no attempt to do so and you are of the ignorant belief that maths is not a tool in aiding conceptual understanding.

OK, therefore by your understanding the strings CAN NOT be the density fluctuations of dense inertial environment forming the vacuum, analogous to density fluctuations inside of condensing supercritical vapor?
