Scenario:

- A banner weighs 5 lbs.

- Due to its size, the banner experiences a total wind load of 100 pounds at a certain wind velocity.

Question:

- When calculating the impact force due to a wind gust at the same velocity, which mass/weight is used in the impact formula: 1) 5 lbs 2) 100 lbs. 3) 105 lbs.

I should clarify that I'm interested in the impact force exerted on the attachment points of the banner as the banner comes to a halt, not the impact force of the wind just hitting the banner face.

Although I'm very new to this, I am aware that ft-lbs force is different than lbs. and mass is different than weight. But for simplicity, just assume everything has been converted properly.
