Was it why that came first?
Was it what that came first?
Was it when that came first?
Was it who that came first?
Was it what that came first?

I want to know what was the first question asked...

i tend to agree that, "What was the first question asked?", was in fact the first question asked.

I know I'll pray about it tonight and look for answers to this question in the future!

For a good answer to your question I think you must acknowledge that any question couldn't be asked prior to the first self-referential cognizance (i.e... the arrival of sentience).

With that being the case then it makes sense to me that the first question Grog asked was most likely .... "Why?"
as in ...
"Why am I me? Why do I know I am? Why am I suddenly smart enough to ask this question?"

Unless of course Grog became sentient around dinnertime then it could have been ... "What?"
as in ....
What is there to eat in this hovel of a cave? or perhaps it could have been "Why does this rat taste like chicken?" or naturally it could have been "Where the hell did I put my spoon?"

If that sentience arose later in the evening then the first question Grog asked could have been ... "Who?"
as in ...
"Who does this biatch think she is turning me down for sex?" unless of course he asked "Why won't this chick blow me?" or instead the ever-popular "What the hell do I have to buy this broad to get her into the sack?"

Of course if sentience arrived during a rainstorm the first question could have been ... "How?"
as in ....
"How the hell am I going to get that damned fire going again?" or conversely of course "When is someone going to invent the umbrella?"

If on the other hand that sentience arrived in the middle of the night then Grog was likely to have asked "Where?" ...
as in ....
"Where the hell are my slippers I really need a pee and its damn cold outside?"

I did read the other day about the earliest "joke" that researchers could find evidence for.... apparently it was some shrieker of a diddy about a woman passing gas in a mans lap. Cool ... an 8,000 year old fart joke in Mesopotamia.

To ask WHY? a being would require to know about "cause and effect".

To ask WHEN? a being would require to know about time, a pretty complex subject.

To ask WHO? a being would need have the concept of self awareness (most animals don't have this).

To ask WHAT, nothing is required. A baby could emerge from its mothers womb and look at the nurse and think "WHAT is that?". So I think the first question was WHAT.

You forgot How... But then again I put what in twice on my first post also...

It was either who or what, and dependent on which was more excited.
