If humans are designed by an intelligent creator why do some people have genes that later in life will give them Huntington Chorea or similar?

My mom has told me about it and how those people first got kids and then reproducing themselves and giving their kids this disease without knowing they have it.

I think that is very unintelligent design.
I think the same about the malaria parasite and even cold viruses.

simply because intelligent design is incorrect, there is no creator

One of the greatest destroyers of faith is timing that doesn't fit our preconceived notions.

We, as humans, need to understand that we have the power to make things better. Maybe not right now, but when we decide we're going to do it, it will be done. The question that really needs asking is: When are we going to do it?

For some reason, we are incredibly important and precious to God. After all the trouble that we give God. After all of the times we turn our backs on him, after all of the crapola that we give him, he still loves us very much. God knows everything about us and yet he still loves us and cares for us no matter what we do to him. In the end, the short life that we live means nothing when compared to eternity. If you think this life is all there is, then 'bad things that happen' are much harder to understand.

One of the greatest destroyers of 'faith' is 'reality'. Only too glad to help out there, Mess, hehehe.

What do you think has been happening while you've been asleep for however long you've lived to date? Science is trying to do the good that Religion has failed to do for thousands of years. Time to wake up now, Mess.

Who gives a damn what a 'fantasy figure' CARTOON CHARACTER "thinks", "says", "wants", "does" etc? Oh. I forgot, people like you don't want to do things because it's right and proper in reality, but because it's 'wanted' by a 'needy' fantasy figure in your wishful-thinking 'un-reality'. Now we see the difference between acting in Reason and living in Fantasy. Thanks for the object lesson, Mess. Ciao.

This type of statement is exactly what Steveo should be correcting you on as well. Steveo says science is not about making life better.

But I'm the one who's doing something about it - no sleep here - too busy.

I only talked about God - what cartoon character would you be referring to?

Who gives a dang what you think about the theory of everything, or anything else for that matter, anyway? But you sure seem to give a dang what Noah was all about - but not enough to read it for yourself.

You're so silly. You would think that if you really wanted to learn something - you would study it. So it obvious that the only reason you're here is to troll.

Thanks for nothing,

The reality you ignore with virtually every statement/assertion and evasion/error you make in your posts.

I work on the 'true' premise that objective knowledge is GOOD and that subjective delusion is BAD....hence why I choose science over religion. How we APPLY that scientific knowledge can be good OR bad; just as applying religious delusion can be good OR bad. But in the end, only science and its fruits will stand the test of reality...everything else has a USE-BY DATE of applicability. Take for instance the case of your 'wishful thinking' and 'prayer' for us all to get along etc etc. If your wishful thinking and prayer was EVEN REMOTELY efficacious, I would have disappeared before you came back to be bothered by someone called "RealityCheck"....but as you can see, your wishful thinking and praying does NOTHING to change the REALITY that I am STILL here to show you up as a well-meaning person but a dangerous one....because you advocate religion in lieu of science as the way forward for humanity. Science is GOOD in and of ITSELF; it is the humans who seek/use objective knowledge that have the INTENT...which is why there are TWO STREAMS in SCIENTIFIC ENDEAVOUR: the APPLIED and PURE science endeavours (sometimes they are inextricably linked perforce of JOINT project/participants/funding/facility etc requirements). So no 'correction' necessary here, Mess.

Thanks for nothing,

We long ago settled that you prefer to live in a two-dimensional world of 'celebrities' and 'cartoon' characters....your 'god' being one of them if one is to judge from many of your idolatrous images of same.

Where did I refer to theory of everything? I only alluded to objective reality. And it is YOU who have failed to read and understand your own delusionary tale of "Noah and the flood"....and then have the temerity to accuse ME of doing so. You still haven't answered the original questions, by the way...so you evade, and in so doing you 'lie-by-omission'. You're getting almost as proficient at such things as SoLoved.

Who's 'silly'? You could get a job for life as the poster-boy for 'silliness' incorporated. I do not troll; I challenge unreason and unscience wherever I come across it...it is the duty of every true scientist and reasoning person to do the same. Unlike YOU, you hypocrite; who's only reason for posting here is to ignore evidence, evade challenges and proselytise irrespective of the counter-productive effects of same on sane and reasoning individuals.

And you're very welcome for nothing...because that's all you have brought here and all you are determined to take away from here...exactly nothing. You came knowing nothing; and you obviously intend to eventually leave BY DESIGN and INTENT to having learned nothing. Way to go. Mess.

Sincerely and without hate; yours,

You give yourself too much credit. You're only half right. I have not prayed for your disappearance. Personally, I don't believe God would answer such a prayer.

I have no delusions about Noah and the flood. But you are trying to make the Bible say something that it doesn't say - using half lies and half truths.

Get something straight RC - it's religion you're after, not people, and not God.

You speak of yourself now. I have probably asked hundreds of serious questions - to which people of your type do not respond. You all just look for things to argue about. When someone who is truly interested in answering comes along, and they happen to lean towards Creationism - you attack them.

To the wonder of you,

This is the first and most misdirecting point where you depart from the reality, because it doesn't matter a bean WHICH prayers YOU think 'he' would/wouldn't be likely to 'answer'....and THAT is your bona fide, genuine, 'false premise' right there, Mess. Because the corollary to your assertion is that you DO believe that your 'god' EXISTS at all....and that 'he' WOULD 'answer' ANY prayer, period.

We were discussing 'god's' intention regarding Noah's flood, weren't we? And I asked questions about that didn't I? You have still to answer my questions, don't you? How is my work elsewhere relevant to you fulfilling your side of the 'debate' on the matters at hand? The t.o.e. project is objective discussion...something which you obviously are not prepared to do here. So perhaps you'd care to participate in the t.o.e. project and provide objective physics input there? You're very welcome...as long as it is OBJECTIVE PHYSICS and not subjective metaphysics, heh? Fair warning, Mess....the same rule for ALL participants there.

Then tell us, what EXACTLY did 'god' MEAN to do when he 'visited' the biblical Noah's flood on the world?

There is ANOTHER point where you depart from reality. You repeat the same old ALREADY-ANSWERED 'questions'; you ask obviously 'false premise' questions which demonstrate your total misunderstanding of the subject matter to which those 'questions' relate (and here is where your HYPOCRISY comes in...you accuse ME of not understanding the bible while YOU do NOT understand evolution or science in general). These are just the tip of the iceberg regarding the sure signs of your hypocrisy and departure from reality, Mess. Reread SoLoved's posts and the answers to them; then reread YOURs and the answers to THEM; and then see if you can see what everyone else sees regarding you and your (haha) 'debating' techniques.

RC,

I just answered your Noah question in the 'ID Teaching Ban' thread. Please look there.

Maybe I'm tired, but I have no idea what this means. I don't get it. Please explain or elaborate.
