Meem
The difference is, you can disable someone whom only has "balls" with a swift kick.
Bravado is much more meta-physical, and no mere kick will ever disable it. It's the difference between a sharp mind and a loud mouth. It's the willingness to stand up, when you have been kicked in the "balls" and not give in to cheap one trick ponies.

WOW .. You even FAIL at reading the dictionary.

Bravado is FALSE bravery. The first word in your own link is "pretentious". You have basically transposed the two meanings.

Someone with BALLS doesn't back down ... BALLS are real. If you happen to have a confrontation with someone who has BALLS then I'd recommend trying out your little "theory". You won't be pleased ... but you'll learn a hard lesson; and I'll get a laugh out of it.

Wow, Uaa,
I'm sorry If I'm out of line, but I've always known you as much less curt, especially unprovoked. Grant it Meem could have phrased things differently, but I found his point very topical for this site, especially seeing the reception he's gotten here. Also, without reading the dictionary, I was under the impression that bravado could be carried by someone, whether or not he could back it up.
I hope I'm not coming off as pretentious, and I'm sorry if I'm unwantedly (sic!). defending you, Meem, I'm just becoming a little hyper-sensitive with the harshness of this forum lately.
Peace,
Ron
Meem
I don't think I have failed to keep what I have said with my first self analogy, a prima donna, I am certain ... Patton had no bravado at all.

QUOTE
–noun, plural -does, -dos. a pretentious, swaggering display of courage.

(edit) You know, you want a piece of me? Come and get it. Don't bite off more than you can chew, I might just have to kick you in your balls, and watch you gasp for air.

I mean, that's what it took to beat the (chat) Nazi's apparently.

And Ron,

Thanks.

Gasping for air? I suppose it's not fun to pick on Meem anymore is it? Every-one's getting so edgy, like when I used to ask simple questions, and got pretentious, complex, recycled, pseudo-scientific-mumbo-jumbo.

Ron,
AS the first person to respond with reason to the first thread I ever posted here, I certainly would respect your perspective regarding me. However, in this case; we've got an excited immature faux-philosopher whom I've witnessed repeatedly making statements that "sound right" but are either completely opposite of reality or incomprehensible when broken down.

I suggest a quick search of his posts ... you should find enough examples to substantiate my view of this person.

As to Bravado ... anyone can put it on. Even a person with real balls I suppose. The person with real balls though has no real need of it.

As for the forum, I've got less post in 2.5 years (no this isn't a "post count argument" but instead an example for the sake of clarity) than Meem has in less than a month. In that time, he's had posts removed and been warned multiple times. In my time here no such warning has ever been received.

My primary issue though is seeing other folks respond to some of his meaningless drivel as if it actually meant something. I personally think that they are hypnotized by his comma usage. I know it's not my job to watch out for others but I've never been one to hold my water when stupidity is evident.

Thanks for your reply. Your one of the most valuable members of this community.
