It is normal to be curious about abiogenesis, but holy smokes! You’re living in your own little dream world. wacko.gif

From here on out, I’ll completely ignore. Until, you decide to join us in something that is truly amazing…REALTY!

Just thinking about how that makes a person feel, does the instruction join us in Reality actually work?

It make me feel like hiding away even further. It seems counter productive.

What Is Reality
http://www.online-self-help.com/thoughts/what-is-reality
“I believe that we choose our reality by the way we think and behave. We are the ones who choose our reality, consciously or not.
So to answer the question "what is reality" I would say that reality is what you make of it your self. It's all based on your own thoughts and attitudes towards things and individuals around you. So if you don't like it, change. “

What with AlexG bitching at everything. Others post crap and you have the balls on ya to call me the odd man out!
Sink or swim - no option but to sink.

Baffled by those who are throwing stones at me. I'll have to adopt a lowered profile. Harder target, and call in the Forum police to sort out who is doing this unscrupulous behaviour.

Quotes from "what-is -reality"

Reality is the average - the most likely - and at the best "relative".

Matrix:
Neo: What truth?
Boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Boy: Then you’ll see that it’s not the spoon that bends, it’s only yourself.

Thoughtprovoking and to my mindset very much to the point

and thank you Robittybob - I see no good reasons for adopting a lowered profile - unless you doubt your own thoughts.

I trust that the banning policy of this excellent forum has been improved lately - and that it is being realized that so-called "truth" is a very fragile concept.

Physics is just as much a "religion" and there are many strong believers, specifically in a forum like this - and this is one good reason for for me to follow the debate, because it is much more interesting to be confronted with the mindsets of those with strong beliefs - because strong beliefs is a good eyeopener to demonstrate the weakness of physics - or better to say the incompleteness and the paradoxial behavior of physics.

So let us have a good debate on this highly revant and interesting topic REALITY -

I think I have just over done it a bit. A little slower, deeper, stronger and lined with fact. Who will argue against that.

Me !!

"lined with facts" and "reality"

very tough to combine these two concepts - according to my mindset - please elaborate !

Yeah but NA was talking about Realty. A very concrete science, at the least, smile.gif

I don't remember you arguing with me that much. I wasn't here for an argument, no I wanted progress.

But how can I compete with those who do SR and GR for breakfast?

So where was I to start when every page of Wikipedia looks like a foreign language?

But those days are over. I have mastered the lingo and I'm coming out of my corner, bruised and battered, but still punching.

Left, right, left that will be my facts with reality.

It *should* make you feel ashamed, and stoke your pride to correct your previous errors so you cannot be called out on them again.

Whether or not it works is entirely up to you. However, it has been shown time and time again that scientists, skeptics, atheists and others who accept reason and rationality wholeheartedly tend to make better decisions in important matters. Not by much, because most of our irrationality is instinctive (meaning no-one is immune), but a little bit better is still better.

And it matters who tells you off too. AlexG can complain as mush as he likes but when you are told off by NM. Man that's bad! Shame, did I deserve that????

I have changed haven't I? You guys know me a bit more. The strange things that have shaped this block of iron (or jelly?).

You can't turn the clock back and take a different road, and this is the mud track I'm on. Came to the crossroad and chose it, and again and again. Felt lost in the end.
What is that saying again? "When you come to the crossroad in your life - take it".
So you take it and come to another crossroad and on and on.

Is it always going to work out? It hasn't for me. Yet even then I can look back and say "it's been one hell of an experience".

No you can't turn the clock back. But you can make things work out. You turn your head around and start looking out of the windshield instead.

Oh - I am not for arguing - I am also for progress - it was just a comment on this Reality - kindly meant and saying that Fact is a fragile concept - just like Reality is a fragile concept -

My rate is falling now down to 22 posts per day. Won't reach my target at that rate.

My mother was very wise, wise enough to choose the right moment to share her wisdom.
In my 49th year she came out with this:-
"You know ****, you get pleasure out of giving pleasure."
Maybe she thought I wouldn't have understood when I was younger, maybe she was right.

The only advice my mother ever gave to me, was when I was quite young, was: If you want to succeed you've got to get a little dirt on your hands.

I never worked out what she meant!

My mother said, "A person comes to their wisdom when they are ready. Nothing else can make it come sooner."

Isn't reality just what our current conciousness is percieving? When you are in a dream, you believe that is reality. Its only waking up that tells you it perhaps wasn't.

The reality is that I'm really surprised this thread on "What is Reality?" is still being added to.

Just thinking of the absent friends, and noting we haven't seen NyphaeaAlba on the forum for months now.
