Based on the behaviour of Fivedoughnut and Alpha after they were banned :- it seems banning members of the 'forum mafia' actually increases the damage to the forum rather than reduces it. Expediency suggests the need for one set of rules for people with integrity and another set of rules for people with none (just ignore them!)

What did happen to the moderators? Medvvved has been spamming the forum for the last 3 days with dozens of posts. Physforum is getting to the point where it's nothing but fundies, spammers, and cranks. I've found myself posting in forums where the Last Post Info is a spam post just to remove the spam, not because I've got anything important to say. This is a waste of my time, and I'm not sure it's worth coming here any more.
