recent report on existence of wave function
http://phys.org/news/2012-05-paper-controv...m-function.html

remind me on similarity with time
http://phys.org/news/2012-04-physicists-ab...sion-space.html

it seems wave function and time both exists in the universe, but only as a mathematical quantities.

I guess we have to wait 10 days to learn why he doesn't feel a tension between his description of things as "exists" and "only ... mathematical quantities" ; in any case recent papers on this topic are http://arxiv.org/abs/1112.3575 and http://arxiv.org/abs/1111.3328 ]

Thank you rpenner, those articles are amazing!

QUOTE
Many others have suggested that the quantum state is something less than real.  In particular, it is often argued that the quantum state does not correspond to reality, but represents an experimenters knowledge and some aspect of reality.

Given such a model, we wish to give precise meaning to the idea that a quantum state corresponds directly to reality, or represents only information.

Quantum states and quantum wave-functions are a real phenomena in nature; they behave like information templates or patterns. But they are not measure-ably real until they are filled with energy, e.g. light energy. The quantum wave of a proton is an information pattern, but it takes 938MeV to make it manifest physically and measurably.

It is my sincere hope that a revolution in scientific thought might occur, and will lead to a breakthrough of new technology.

If the wave-function exists as a real phenomena, then one has to ask: is there a relationship between these wave-functions, and the implementation of gravity, general and special relativity. Can these wave-functions be the aether that is compatible with relativity?
