Well, we could reduce the human population by about 90 percent over the next 50 years or so. That would put an end to the threat of human caused global warming.
What do these scientists not get about the theory of lesser evils?

Possible the blades of the wind turbines could be painted a brighter colour and even a small wind powered noise maker which could only be heard close up (birds would hear it further away) would help stop birds and bats flying into them? I find it strange that bats are mentioned in that they are very agile and you would think they could easily avoid such slow moving things.

A turbine with a 290 foot diameter blade has a Blade TIP speed of ~ 10 MPH * the RPM, so even at a fairly slow turning rate of 15 RPM the tip of the blades are cooking along at ~ 150 MPH.
