Which cancer is better? Is there a comparable difference among cancers? I know, the world is full of carcinogens, right? Isn't quality of life what we are all after? If you know that something you are purposely ingesting is going to inflict suffering wouldn't you try to starve, destroy, and segregate the faulty antagonist? Smoking combined with Vitamin E = increased likelyhood of lung cancer? Vitamins will not protect you from oxidizing your body more rapidly and irrefutably. Smoking ones body is not a valued past-time. Why is it that people are always concerned when its too late to do anything about it? People die eventually. Is there a rush to be first in line? Smoked fish tastes better and is healthier. rolleyes.gif

From my own experience, clearly some cancers are better than others. A few years ago my 80 year old father began to develop skin cancers on the sun exposed areas of his body. These tumors are slow growing, and easy to detect and remove. Four years ago, my 52 year old brother was erroneously treated for a sinus infection for about 9 months, and then suddenly over the course of two weeks, lost his sight in both eyes. After a month of diagnostic testing they found a stage III nasopharyngeal cancer which ended his life a year later.

In my fathers case, 77 years of sun exposure resulted in a minor nuisance. While 30 years of excessive smoking, drinking, poor diet, and lack of exercise, most likely brought my brother to an early ash pile.

Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is an epithelial tumor of the head and neck with unique features. Etiologic factors include diet, viral agents, and genetic susceptibility. There is no clear association with tobacco and alcohol consumption in endemic areas. NPC is uncommon in North America and Europe, with an incidence of 1 in 100,000. Endemic areas include Southern China, Southeast Asia, and North Africa. Incidence is also high in Inuit Indians. Incidence rate is 25 to 50 per 100,000 in endemic areas. Diet in the form of salted, smoked fish and meat in these regions contributes to the high incidence.

You're missing a point that the FDA hopes you'd miss. Vitamin E was never claimed to prevent lung cancer, but the FDA wants people to stop trying to prevent/treat themselves with supplements when there are more expensive drugs that they regulate that work almost as well. [Moderator: Lies.]

Vitamin D (I hope you aren't totally dyslexic) DOES prevent lung cancer, and many other types of cancer, and has been shown in many different medical reports (including several posted here on PhysOrg) that it increases survival in lung cancer from 29% to 72%. [Moderator: While not a cure of itself, some people do need vitamin D supplements. Consult with your doctor and know the risks of vitamin D overdose. http://www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS/content/...vent_Cancer.asp versus http://calorielab.com/news/2009/01/17/vita...mmended-levels/ ]

One reason that Vitamin E is potentially carcinogenic is that it's generally oil-based, and oils tend to go rancid if left around too long. Rancid oils are VERY carcinogenic, even if they start out as beneficial nutrients. [Moderator: Lies.]

High-dose Intravenous Vitamin C has been shown in research to kill many of the most common types of cancer, with 100% effectiveness against lymphoma cell lines in in-vitro tests. [Moderator: Lies. (Intravenous is an antonym of in vitro.) The jury is still out on this treatment being effective.] The trick is that it takes more Vitamin C than your digestive system can absorb to reach levels where it's toxic to cancerous cells, therefore you need to go the IV route to get the doses high enough in the tissues for it to work. Don't bother downing a bottle of Vitamin C tablets, it won't do anything but give you digestive problems.

Linus Pauling predicted the high-dose/Vitamin C as cancer-killer, and hypothesized it was due to the ever ravenous cancer cells mistaking Vitamin C for glucose, the byproduct of the mistake being hydrogen peroxide, which for reasons unknown (by me, at least), kills cancerous cells at levels that don't affect noncancerous cells at all. In the in-vitro tests (also reported by PhysOrg), the cancer cells died in a manner that was consistent with hydrogen peroxide toxicity. [Moderator: But cyanide also kills cancer cells in vitro.]

Something we may have established some 30 years earlier, but for the fact that Pauling protested the Viet Nam War, and was subject to a smear campaign which is only now starting to wear off. Facts being stubborn things, truth will out. [Moderator: Also, Pauling was not a nice person to work with. http://oregonstate.edu/dept/Special_Collec...m/goertzel.html]

Bottom line, take 1000mg of Vitamin C daily, unless you catch cold, then up the dose by 5x (1000mg every five hours or so). [Moderator: Ridiculous!] Every time you take a 1000mg of Vitamin C when you have a cold, the symptoms simply go away for about five hours. No runny nose, no sore throat, no cough... When symptoms return, take another Vitamin C, 1000mg, and the symptoms will, again, go away for another five hours or so. [Moderator: Lies.]

Take 2000IU of Vitamin D per day to reduce your chances of getting cancer by about 40%. That's well below any level that has side-effects. [Moderator: Lies.] (I have my own theory that baldness in men is actually a means of getting new skin to produce Vitamin D after the skin exposed over the lifetime loses its ability to produce Vitamin D, which over-exposed skin does. [Moderator: Ridiculous!] Clever trick, bald spots. New, un-tanned skin ready to produce enough Vitamin D to help extend the lifespan of the older guys.)

Also, buy some colloidal silver, 10ppm, in a spray bottle, and keep it handy. [Moderator: Ridiculous!] Next time you feel a cold coming on, spray some up each nostril. The cold will go away. Also works with other viruses, including the AIDS virus, also reported here at PhysOrg. [Moderator: Lies.]

[Moderator: Deleted.]

It also seems to work on MRSA, which is currently killing more people than AIDS. [Moderator: Lies.]

The FDA hates its very existence, of course, and so is slandering it at every opportunity. [Moderator: Lies.] From the perspective of a drug regulatory agency, a substance that works better than most antibiotics that can be bought over the internet with no Rx is a job-security nightmare. Worse still, it isn't that hard to make, so they can't even prevent people from making their own (which I DON'T recommend).

10ppm, don't use more than a gallon per year (unless you have good reason, like AIDS or MRSA), and spread the word. [Moderator: Ridiculous!]

It is well established fact that proper nutrition (especially certain antioxidants and vitamins) help us fight against cancer. If you are looking for a supplement that helps you, consider cancer protective supplement, VitalCells from BioVitali, LLC (www.biovitali.com), based on the formulation invented by M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center, the only supplement endorsed by National Foundation for Cancer Research, and patented in both US and Europe.
When tested on mice with cancer by an independent foremost cancer center, this formulation shows to be effective in protecting from cancer and cardiovascular disorder, as well as in extending (cancerous mice) lives for 30%.
You can find all the information at this web location: www.biovitali.com/knowledgeBase/supplements/CancerPreventSupplement.pdf

[Moderator: These claims are highly suspect! The most recent visit to the NFCR page indicates the following information:
  1. Do not take vitamin supplements unless your doctor has prescribed them.
  2. Avoid taking high doses of antioxidant vitamins during radiation therapy or chemotherapy. After treatment is complete, ask your physician if it is safe to start taking vitamins.
  3. Eat a balanced diet. Doing so should supply enough of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients the body needs in the natural proportions.

Living in wellness is a tough essential that we owe our body. Yes—a scoop of ice cream, a large-sized crispy French fries, a bag of chips, or some bottles of beer is oh-so-good, but is it good to our body as well? Especially today, living the way our body needs is a hard thing to do.
