It seems that Intel still wants to be the only chip maker in the world. Their main competitor, AMD, simply makes better chips. For instance; the new 64 bit processors made by Intel, while they are touted as being able to operate in "compatibility mode", are much slower when runnig 32 bit software. Whereas, AMD chips are designed to be fully compatible, and will not only run 32 bit software, it will run it at 64 bit speeds, and needs no "compatibility mode" to do so. Maybe, instead of trashing AMD, Intel should learn from them.
