Because there doesn't seem to be a sound editorial policy which discerns the difference between real scientific news and fluff, or over-hyped news releases from institutions looking to enhance their chances of more taxpayer grant money.
Far, far to many of these non-stories seem to be appearing with a monotonous regularity
