I wana start a debate thread... The hope point of it is for it to be a place where you can debate any given subject you have with the group of posters in the thread while you debate every one elses ideas at the same time. So basicaly with every topic added each person should debate that topic and all the ones before it.

Let the fun begin!!!

So anyhow heres my idea to start us off. I believe the universe can be viewed in any number of ways a person would want and be understood correctly and completely. Like for example you can view the universe as energy or mass or magnetic fields or Emotions or Logic and with each way understand it well. But I do believe some ways are better communicated to others. So my theory is that the best way to view the universe has to be in a way every one can understand and that would be in the way a blind death mute person who cant feel or taste would view the universe. GL guys.

magpies,

Debating with you is an exercise in futility.

Ok so your theory is that debate with me is pointless...

I would argue that this is not true for many reasons. One being that because a person is able to learn they are able to learn from any thing. So by having a debate with me you as a learner should be able to learn from it still and thus its not totaly pointless. Another reason why it wouldnt be pointless is because I have the tendancy to annoy you and by dealing with me when your annoyed you will learn to better cope with your anger management problems.

Ok so now two things are up for debate.
1 The best way to understand the universe.
2 Is debating with magpies pointless.

Hopefuly someone will debate these issues.

Debating with you is pointless because you have no regard for facts.
If a debate can't be grounded on something solid, then it's completely pointless.

1 The best way to understand the universe.

Personally, I'd like my own spaceship, one able to to travel faster than light. Like, really really really fast!

But, I think the best way would be to theorize and test said theories with observations via telescopes.

Maybe magpies can put us in his mind spaceship and fly us around the universe on a voyage of discovery. How about it magpies?

If that were the best way, everyone would understand the universe, which is clearly not the case. I offer your posts as evidence, in disproving your latest theory.

How would I go about earning a ride in the magical-magpies-mobile?

It's rather pointless to engage in a debate without having a clear understanding of the ground rules and the format.

Assuming it's a debate you want and not a discussion.

Assuming you know the difference.
magpies
Oh cmon just join in the fun. Or are you chicken?

In order to get a ride in the magpies mind machine you would have to do some thing amazing... If you do I'll let u know.

Ha! Ground rules and format - where would you be without those? Maybe placing pretty beads on the board? Aesthetically pleasing patterns - judged (by all) by quality*? The Universe is full of gobsmackingly stunning 'beads' and all you can think of is playing at winners and losers?

If you don't know what quality is..then..well..there you go.
