[COLOR=purple][I] No God can exist if one defines Him as good as the amount of pointless evil overrides any good. Yes, many of us, including me, experience much good, but millions suffer tyrranies and natural disasters that take away their free will.
Evil it the presence of great pointless suffering, not the silly absence of good. laugh.gif
We could have the better and the best to contrast with the good rather than evil.
We don't need the discordant note of evil to experience the good tunes of life.
See the thread the problem of Heaven to study up on others" rationalizations for there being a good God despite all that evil, and why they are ratinalizations.
Again, Alvin Plantinga, with his usual sophistry, fails to eviscerate the logical problem of God with his[ perhaps] unknown defence argument. mad.gif
Depression is so depressing!
Merry Solstice and Happy Mithra Day!

We naturalists find that no reason can exist to claim that God exists were He good as the pointless evils reveal no reason to see Him as good and as good, He cannot therefore exist! As evil,no, for then the problem of Hell would arise. Therefore, no God can exist!
Evil is soundly not the privation of the good but the presence of pointless suffering. tongue.gif
The contrast should be amongst the good, the better and the best.
Study the old thread the problem of Heaven for why no God can exist.
The logical problem is betwixt the fact of evils and His onmi- attributes, and Rowe's evidential problem is that the evidence proclaims too much pointless evil. I combine the two to present the best case against Him. Carneades's himself keel hauls the spiritualists" rationalizations of His being a monster were He to exist as he notes that the pig would not maintain it was good for his sacrifice!. biggrin.gif
Therefore, super naturalists need to compose sounder argumentation's in order to exonerate Him!
Does anyone here know what Edward Fees would state about these two problems? He exults himself as the theologian of our times, in effect. He dislikes us gnu atheists" gung ho approach and our argumentation and would reintroduce the backwards Aristotelian approach to science with teleology rather than what Thales maintains as teleonomy, en effect.
Depression is so depressing, especially should one have double depression!

Rowe's evidential prob em from evil notes that the evidence proclaims that no good God can exist, and the logical one proclaims that no God can exist as the pointless evils thus contradict His omni-attributes.
I add the former to the latter to evince a more solid evisceration of any defence or theodicy albeit, that isn't necessary
Evil is the presence of unrequited suffering, not the privation of the good.
Better and best could be the contrasts with good rather than evil.
The composers of the God-notion just deluded themselves and others with His being good! Yahweh had not only to permit evils but to do evil Himself [ Isaiah 45:7],thus the reason for the Deluge and the commands for genocide and sending people to Hell.!
He entrapped the original two as they had no knowledge of right and wrong in order to know that it was wrong to partake of that fruit! And they should have had that knowledge in the first place per the free will and soul-building arguments!
All the evidence proclaims unrequited evils contradicts a good God, and the problem of Hell would arise against any evil God.
Thus confirming the ignostic challenge that He cannot exist, and thus we naturalists can be positive atheists in noting that.
Please study the old thread the problem of Heaven in order to add to or to refute these contentions!
Double depression is so depressing! Please help mental health and take away the stigma of mental illness!

I now make this thread for review.
