This is a very interesting TED talk that discusses the similarities between search algorithms and Daniel Dennett's descriptions of consciousness and the brain. Would LOVE to see how much of this is credible.
I cannot post a link as I am a new user. However the talk is very easy to find, do a search for TED Google Consciousness and voila - or maybe a nice person will post it here underneath.
