However when any projectile would strike this new armor, that projectile might be fighter drastically slowed, or in some way deflected?

This new type of armor, would have to be placed human body wide, in the same similar fashion, that the exterior shell of an insects exoskeleton is placed, to stop both small arms fire and fragments placed from nearby new high tech explosions.

Robots and androids, in the near short time, might also undergo very rapid developments, plus a similar style of armor, that would take these battlefield assistants, out of the damage areas, offered by small portable highly destructive anti-armor weapons.

These options might be exercised, even if there would be low intensity brushfire wars, projected to happen for the near future, rather than large scale battlefield engagements.

*Notes, This development might entail a type of armor, that is lighter weight, than armors currently used.
There might be whole scale integration, of both types of lighting and imaging capabilities, plus communications, engineered right into the armor coverings.
