http://www.physorg.com/news103989452.html How is this anything more than advertising?
Everything in life is based on science, business, and advertising. What is the issue? Bring on the technology. Bigger, faster, cheaper. That is not what we want, that is what we need!

At least, the paper put "Source: HP" at the bottom. I prefer this to a paper signed by a journalist. But it still has little to do here among papers.
We need it faster? O yes, we would. Unfortunately, newer processors aren't much faster than older ones.
If you forget Intel's and Amd's announcements and look at real benchmarks, even in multitasking programmes, the most recent Core 2 are just 3-5 times as fast as the best Pentium III were, and this was over two generations ago. But the best PIII is over 10 times faster than a P1 (please don't argue, I own them).
So progress has almost stalled, because clock speeds don't improve any more with shrinking now. If you have another impression, it just proves marketing works.
