Your fellow human (yfh)
Carbon. Sugar. Life processes. Reaction to the stars. Existence on earth.

J'555,

Wood supports trees & supports (walking sticks) old men, old ladies too.
.......An obvious choice.....but is it the one you had in mind? biggrin.gif
bang4thebuck
That is what I had in mind at the start...but that would not be a logical analogy.

As Tree is not to wood as old man is to a walking stick-

If it was, it would rather read:

Root is to a Tree as Walking Stick is to an Old Man

OR vice versa -

Tree:Root :: Old Man:Walking Stick

So 555J- your call dry.gif
555Joshua
What does the tree have that is useful? What does the old man have that is useful?
bang4thebuck
Ok

Last quick attempt.

Age

or in another analgous interpretation the answer is:

Children (grandchildren)

I favour the first.

What the hell. biggrin.gif You're right.
