I find this to be more than a little rediculous that an article as speculative and unfounded as this would make it onto physorg. There is not one bit of substantiation in this entire article, and the quote of "30-40 million" nano phones being sold is absurd.

It seems a little weird to me, that apple would discard such a popular device in favor of a device with no track record. Maybe they just want more people downloading music.
Suck that this change would forever put an Ipod nano out of my reach.

Who knows?,

This is fairly flawed reasoning, as the ipod has been out for, 6 years, in many varieties (video, nano, mini, and many others) and this is simply a single replacement for those others that have already sold. 30-40 million in a year is still absurd, especially considering this device neither exists, nor is there anything but speculative proof of this coming out anytime soon.
