Montec
Hello everyone

I was wondering if enacting harsher penalties for a banned "name" would add a little "civility" to this forum.

For instance, if all feedback (both positive and negative) given by the "name" was removed retroactively from the date of banning, would a "name" become more valuable?

Any other ideas out there?

I'm not sure if I understand you properly, but it sounds good to me! If a member is banned, the feedback from that user disappears? That is cool!
BigDumbWeirdo
Perhaps a BANNED USER sign could be added to their post headers, as well.
I like the idea of having their feedback be removed. I also think that a person's feedback score should be recalculated when this happens. Some people are shy of 100% ONLY because of some banned troll negging them, and that's wrong.

Now you're going to want that on my board. And I just barely have the beta version working...

Jeez!

Now that is tooo funny. Perhaps you think all the negs given to the "trolls" are justified? Man, I have had the most fun checking some of the feedback here. And thank you for this BDW:

Negative So far I've seen you lying, straying off-topic, displaying the hallmarks of the crank ("My theory is NOT a theory!") refusing to listen, and quoting the bible in a science forum. Whether or not you agree with me, you damn well earned this.

Boy, you are boiling hot here.

Ok, will try to get out of your way now. Go on, ignore me, I'm a troll right? Just put your hands under your butts and bite your lips, then I'll see that a sign that no one cares.....but you can't resist...gotta get me to fall into that crank catagory....strength in numbers..,..blah blah blah....lol! Wonderful brothers and sisters, if only you could see yourselves, you'd laugh so loud with me. Bless you , peace light and happiness your future reward.

You are extremely funny, in a cruel sort of way.

Ahh, your true colors shine through, at last.
BTW, Yes, I think all the negative feedback the trolls get is justified.

Wow. Apparently, I was "boiling hot" and didn't even know it....
It's good to have someone around here who knows me better than I know myself.

I thought 'bippies' died out in the sixties. Lord.

We now have random negs at Sapo's Joint, if anyone cares to contribute. smile.gif

Never such treachery from me, magister!

I am your loyal Fool, destined to your bidding, magister!

Would only I had an image to denote my abjectitude, magister!

Do you remember a post of mine, starring Elmer Fudd? dry.gif

Edit: Wow. The edit got away from me...

My poor little alter-muppet, sockpuppet Muggins. Died and ghostly hereabouts, but has his shadowed, dark redoubt!

He pops out sometimes, like Alice...

Hey I have a sockpuppet too. His name is N O M.

Wait a second. He's not my sockpuppet, I'm his sockpuppet! But if I'm his sockpuppet, who's sockpuppet is he? ph34r.gif

It's a good idea. it would certainly annoy the trolls. But it would mess up my collection sad.gif

I also like the idea of the Banned icon.

Their reasons for warning should also be made public. For those who haven't had one yet, a member with a warn % can click on it to see why they were warned.
N O M
I just noticed that Neutrinos (einstienear's sock-puppet) account shows his group as "Validating".

I bet it would be a pretty simple change to their system to add a group of "Banned" or even "Too stupid to be a member".

[edit]chrisrivos's account is also "Validating" unsure.gif [/edit]

Maybe they don't have to. Mr. Robin Parsons's warnings didn't really need an explanation; nor did einstienear's or Squeeze's. It would still be nice to have it made public though.
