First of all NQR for explosives detection has been researched for 30 years and two companies have products: GE & QR Sciences. Secondly, squid pre-amps have been looked at and rejected as useful. Noise figures for room temperature amps (1 db or so in the appropriate bandwidth) are plenty good considering most of the SNR problems is from RFI and materials within the antenna range ringing. The cost, complexity, and lack of robustness of implementing HTS squid preamps for an at-best marginal increase in SNR makes the system are not viable.
