From what I have heard, the cure for cancer is simply a combination of potassium and vitamin C - this was discovered and tested in (if I recall correctly) ~1905, then forgotten.
I forget the exact doses required, but patients on their death beds made full recoveries in quite a short space of time. There is, however, the danger that if the tumors are killed too quickly, this will lead to internal bleading, therefore correct dose is important.
Linus Pauling thought he had it with vitamin C in the mid 20th century; but of course, patients without sufficient potassium levels showed no improvement, and the rest showed no further improvement after these levels were depleted.
