I think that there are 2 more types of spacetime than just those Positive, Flat, and Negative spaces. Those that I have, thought up, are the Warped Positive, and the Warped Negative. Warped Positive and Warped Negative can both be mistaken as Flat spacetime. However, I haven't figured out what the eventual future of each of the other universes.

When you come up with new ideas you generally need to give a description rather then just giving a name to your new idea! rolleyes.gif

I think there is just space time where time is an analogue variable, at the 'speed of light' particles time becomes 0, this is all down to relativity so that to all observes, the speed of light is the same.

If you traveled near the speed of light and some one shone a beam of light past you, you would measure it as the same speed of light due to the fact that time has slowed down so much for you.

If you where going faster then light, light could not catch up mathematical speaking you would say that your personal time would need to be negative for this to happen. In real terms, i think that if it where possible for it to happen, which I'm not convinced that it is your time would travel backwards so that light is actually passing you because you are moving to the point where you and the light would have met, then to the point before you over take the light.

The reason i am not compelled by this reason is that, how can you be going faster then light if your going back on it, i dont think this explains it clearly, I'm going to have to think about this some more, its just that the whole idea does not appeal to reasoning.

Oops, sorry. Well, here's each of their "descriptions".

Warped Positive can be mis-interpreted as Flat (same with Warped Negative), because there is such a slight curvature to spacetime, that it is almost undecipherable from standard Flat spacetime. Now, since by little black notebook is before me, I can give the futures of each mode of spacetime. Warped Positive curvature would eventually end, but would contract at a much slower rate. On the other hand, Warped Negative curvature would continue expanding forever, but at a much slower rate than Negative curvature.

If you ask me what i think, well i would label those phases rather then 'types' because types suggest there are different for example a colour can be red or green these are different types, a different phase would be a different shade of colour. Well space time can be bent to different degrees and possibly even in different directions but its still space time but with different degrees of bending, just think of it like a scale you can have 0 where it is flat, it can go up positively on this scale or it can go down to negative.

Very interesting... I need to think about this idea, and talk to a few people, then I'll get back to you.

Could there be a sixth?

Interesting, titanium. You really gave that thought (no sarcasm here).
I think that you might be correct, but there are certain problems with each spacetime. The first and foremost, is that each spacetime in question can have the opposite effect. The Warped Positive could expand forever, because the flat areas of that universe could push on the positive areas, and keep them expanding. The Warped Negative has the possibility of the Big Crunch, because the negative areas would expand much faster than those flat areas, therefore causing tension on the rest of spacetime, and could create a tear in spacetime which would pull the rest of spacetime inward, thereby destroying it.

And to you Nexus, yes there could be a sixth spacetime, however it might be another form of one of those described.

True, or maybe it could be something totally different in its self...
quade
How true. However, I think that the bases are covered. But, I will not condemn the possibility of another, say perhaps Warped Flat????

Oops, there. A kid from down the street thinks that he is better than me at everything, and his name happens to be Quade. I forgot to check if he was logged in. That post is mine. If you think that it was him, you would be wrong. All he thinks about is how to wave something in a person's face. dry.gif
