Bonjour, my technocrats! biggrin.gif

I've been making music and saving it as .wav files, the only format available. They are 1411kbps @ 44100Hz and around 30mb's each.

I want to upload the files to bebo (the popular social site) so that I can impress all my friends with my musical genius! To do this (I have been told by the bebo support group) it needs to be 128kbps @ 44100Hz and under 10mb's.

I have converted the files to .mp3's which have these attributes, but they are still rejected.

I've been searching the net for nearly a week now, reading all sorts of pages about how .mp3's work in order to solve the problem, but it remains..

I'm just hoping someone on the Physics Forum can shed some light on this for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You.

You have the kbps and hz's right, but my mp3s are half or less from 10mb. Mine run 3.4 to 5.5mb. When you convert make sure you check the file size also. Are you using Windows player to convert(?), thats what works for me. cool.gif

They're working out at about 3.5mbs each at 128kbps.

I used Media Player initially, and that was where my problems began. You can't set the sample rate on it (well my version anyway). The files for some reason were coming out as 48000Hz mp3s.

I've used a few other freeware converts, but no joy!

Btw, I was advised to try a different internet browser. I only have IE an Firefox and neither solved the problem.

I found a forum on the net with a similar problem. The solution was to open a file called mime.php and change a certain line of code.

I found it for Firefox, but I didn't have software that could open it. IE doesn't have such a file.

I think I can ignore that acctually, as in the past I have uploaded mp3's with no problem.

Hence the problem must lie with the mp3 itself.

Try this site it may or may not help but you never know.

PS: their free software won't help you, but the cost is not bad for full function.
