A test version of an updated Firefox browser is out, offering such features as automatic updates and improvements designed to speed browser navigation.

Firefox 1.5 Release Candidate 1, which came out earlier this week, is a preview of the upcoming version of the browser. The final release is expected later this year, following several delays.

Microsoft is due to launch Internet Explorer version 7 in the next year, and it promises a much-improved product. Norwegian company Opera is also making its presence felt in the browser market. Opera released free version 8.50 of its software in September.

According to statistics, Microsoft's Internet Explorer continues to dominate the market, with 85.45% share, Mozilla browsers now have 11.51%, Safari holds 1.75%, Opera has 0.77% and Netscape 0.26%. Will it change soon?

Somehow, I think that your figure of 0.26% for Netscape has the decimal point in the wrong place. I think it should be 2.6%

Netscape is also a Mozilla browser, just FYI although NS8 is utilizing double core trident when embedding MSHTML. Anyway it has definitely has more than 0,26 share. I would guess (as I dont remember the figures exactly) about 3%.
