In source advertised, (Anatomy Of A Striker Vehicle), there was a showing of the layered construction of the Striker Armored Vehicle as have a deeper core of ceramic blocks, couple with a pressed layer of fabric Kevlar, over the Striker’s metal frame.
Keep in mind that this type of construction, only purports the metal as a baseline inner structure, that supports the added protection features.
It would probably be feasible in time, to utilize a press casted reinforced carbon system of interior structures, which would not be metal, but a very high strength over metal structural support core, to house both ceramic and new Kevlar combinations over existing structural concepts.
This might mean the conception of either conventionally designed vehicles, or possibly many variants of both wheeled or other styles of robots, which could be alternately armored?
These new armored shells, could be made to be composed to be much lighter than traditional metal protective or structural support cores and members,
These new added features, might possible make newer armored all types of vehicle, very fast, lightweight and able to break tradition with slower, heavier more cumbersome vehicles?
