First thing is, "milli" means 1/1000 so these should actually be kilo-whatevers. Then, they do not have feet(pedes), they have legs (pods) so they should be kilopods, not milipedes.
Whatever, they are creepy, don"t you think?
What is really creepy, however, is the biologists who ripped out a dozen of these rarities from their natural habitat. Stupid scientists, endangered means "Do Not Disturb!" They are even worse that archeologists who steal from the dead.

I argree, but really folks "it's just another bug." rolleyes.gif

There is no such thing as "just another bug", folks! These millipedes in madagascar are squeezed for a poison they emit that kills parasites in lemurs. Besides being amazing pets! I had one in class that could actually put all (how ever many legs) IN REVERSE to keep from falling off your hand! Even funnier...only the female could do this, the male couldn't! So God has a sense of humour, again, when it comes to sexual dymorphism and parallel parking?! dry.gif

This being California we are talking about you can bet your last dollar that is exactly what will happen.. no costs to high, no land buying fees to much! just to save a insect.. and the insect will be protected with far more vigilance than the actual citizens of the great state of California!

Kill a citizen of the great state of California, get it reduced to manslaughter, out in 4 years with good behavior, willfully harass, threaten or cause harm to a "endangered species", 12 years...

You steal from the dead regularly, by the way. In almost every possible sense of the word- What are you doing on a science forum with such unintelligent babble such as that?

More info please. Do the lemurs ever-so-gently squeeze them or do they squish 'em? I assume the lemurs do this .. sounds a bit tedious having to find a millipede every time you see a lemur with parasites. Exterior parasites?
