How does the news story "The Nobel-winning founder of a neuroscience center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is resigning as its director after a school investigation concluded he inappropriately discouraged another scientist from accepting a job at MIT." justify your choice of thread title?
You should either support the claim with additional information or get a life. The real question is why the director felt the need to discourage the other scientist, which from the article alone is a mystery.

The man did seem to be worried about competition, and in such close proximity to his own that the other could possibly use his own research before he had a chance to publish any positive results under his own name.
