You are welcome to start discussing any topic you want.

Back on Mercury the Mercurii spend their long nights (100 Earth days long) having what are called MEGA-FORUMS where the origin of life is discussed at length.

Often the snoring drowns out the speaker, but no one seems to care.

QUOTE (Robittybob1+Apr 6 2012, 06:18 PM)
Any news from the front? Has the hostility waned or intensified?

I plead: "Mercurii please show mercy to the Earthlings."

Note: We will give you a ship load of Green-backs (minimum of 1 trillion USD) if they are of any value to you.

The Mercurii are mopping up a few hot spots of resistance prior to the ceasefire. The Mercurii are hoping the ceasefire and the annihilation of the Earthling Freedom fighters will coincide on the 12 April 2012 Earth-Time.

This will make it look as if the Earth fully supports the domination by the Ancient Mercurial Dynasty.
Robittybob1
Satellite images show that the Mercurii are not withdrawing their forces from the Earthling cities.
On the ground there are reports of incessant shelling of the Free Earth Army hotspots.

Will the United Nation observers want to go into the thick of all that?

You can't send in the peacekeepers unless there is a peace to keep.

The Mercurii don't want peace as much as domination. Peace comes with surrender.

The World is at War! The Earthlings will never surrender!

"We shall go on to the end. We shall fight for the Earth, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our lands, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender ...."

Winston Churchill said something similar once before.

Robittybob1
News tonight saying that there is no let up in the attacks by the Mercurii.
A ceasefire by the Earthlings seems like a real good option when the 10th comes around.
But will the Mercurii keep their word, somehow I think they will. The fighting might stop but the protests against the domination won't stop.
Robittybob1
One or two more days to go depending on where the date line is. Hang in there Earthlings. Let's send the Mercurii packing.

What is this! "Mercurii President scuttles truce plan with new demands"

Robittybob1
The fighting spilled over into other regions of the Earthling domain. Turkey and Lebanon have been under fire and deaths have occurred. Russia and China appear on the surface to encourage the Mercurii to keep to the peace plan.

What is it that they want really?

This would not have happened if the Earthlings had not started their rebellion against Mercurii domination. It is the Earthling's fault for sure.

Do you not sense the epoch changing world events occurring at the moment. What with the Mercurii hell-bent on world domination and countries like Syria, Iran and North Korea all snubbing their noses at the USA and the United Nations as a whole.

This is not a joke but a drama based on real events. Sad sad events when you look into it too.

Feel for the Earthling families. Be a Man not a Mercurii.

The Earthling’s plight could be “much improved” by daybreak on Thursday if the combatants — Mercurii government forces and a ragtag collection of armed rebels and army defectors on the other — respected his proposal to stop fighting by then.

“I have received government assurances they will respect the cease-fire,” he said, referring to the Mercurii authorities.

“If everyone respects, I think by six o’clock on Thursday the 12th — six o’clock in the morning on Thursday the 12th — we should see a much improved situation on the ground,” he said, saying it was still possible for both sides to make progress toward a cease-fire.

Found another article that backs the Mercury theory to the hilt.
"Did Life on Earth Come From Mars?" http://news.discovery.com/space/mars-life-120315.html

QUOTE

Early Earth may have had too much water for life to take hold.
Conditions for life may have been better on Mars, which had dry spots.
Cycles of water and drying may have been needed to give the molecular building blocks for life a chemical toehold.

Mars would have been a better host for life to arise than Earth.

Mars in all honesty would have been too cold back then when the Sun didn't have the same intensity.

The analysis was based on studying the mathematically complexity of the experiment results.
The idea is that living systems are more complicated than purely physical ones, a concept that can be represented mathematically.

Io is the closest moon to Jupiter
A little bigger than Mercury at 3,642 k

Something weird going on there. Geologically very active in other words the core is hot and the Io moon might be shrinking so the material is being spewed to the surface.
But what was causing the heating?

QUOTE
With over 400 active volcanoes, Io is the most geologically active object in the Solar System.[7][8] This extreme geologic activity is the result of tidal heating from friction generated within Io's interior as it is pulled between Jupiter and the other Galilean satellites—Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. Several volcanoes produce plumes of sulfur and sulfur dioxide that climb as high as 500 km (300 mi) above the surface. Io's surface is also dotted with more than 100 mountains that have been uplifted by extensive compression at the base of the moon's silicate crust. Some of these peaks are taller than Earth's Mount Everest.[9]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Io_(moon)

There is more to it than that for it locked into a synchronous orbit with Jupiter (one face always to the planet).
The heating implies a loss of energy so therefore unless it is also being tidally accelerated it is going to lose energy and hence momentum and one day crash into Jupiter.

I would would think it requires more than the passing of the other Moons to cause this severe heating.

I wonder if the Mercurii have been over there and know the reason?
Robittybob1
No it seems to be correct that Io is being heated by the friction due to gravitational tug o war between the other moons and Jupiter.

The Mercurii never had a say in it. They just sat there basking oin the Sun.

The Mercurii were right into this from the beginning too, for it was a matter of clinging on to dear life. They survived because it was in their DNA. The knew how to cling on and have spread throughout the Solar System and beyond by clinging onto comets etc.

That is similar to what we have already said. I thought life would have got to the level of bacteria, fungi, viruses and amoeba before the dispersion occurred, about 3.9 Billion years ago. You could imagine as life got harder on Mercury the life forms evolved survival techniques, like sporulation and dessication, cryogenic methods that finally enabled the life forms to ride across the vastness of space in suspended animation.

Lyrid Meteor Shower: Tips to See April's 'Shooting Stars' April 22

Tonight's the night!
http://www.space.com/15332-lyrid-meteor-sh...ching-tips.html

Every year the Earth is seeded from the seeds of Murcurii life?

How does the meteor shower interact with the Earth year after year?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyrids
QUOTE
The Lyrids are a strong meteor shower lasting from April 16 to April 26[1] each year. The radiant of the meteor shower is located in the constellation Lyra, peaking at April 22—hence they are also called the Alpha Lyrids or April Lyrids. The source of the meteor shower is the periodic Comet C/1861 G1 Thatcher.[2] The Lyrids have been observed for the past 2600 years.

If the Earth is going through the tail debris are we ever going to be hit by the comet itself?

Normal transmission will resume soon. We apologise for circumstances beyond the Mercurii control. Due to the massive solar flare (Coronal mass ejection (CME)) aimed directly at Mercury we are interrupting the cultural broadcast from Mercury this morning.
Normal transmission will resume soon.

In the meantime all the Mercurii are advised to read the "Life on Mercury" thread, and latter to put your head between your legs and kiss arse goodbye.

Robittybob1
The Mercurii Council of Elders (MCE) has decided to name the CME that devastated the natural landscape of Mercury over the last 360 seconds "Granouille" in honour a wild devastating force who continues to create havoc.

If there are any Murcurii who survived the blast would they call into the MCE - HQ please.

Remember disposal of the corpses of the deceased by solar evaporation is the only MCE approved method. Anyone caught digging holes in the landscape will be dealt with forthwith.

@Darian - a better idea would be to consider the ramifications of the findings in this article.

Did you mean "a premonition"? No it was when we were discussing a topic on the Wooden Boats Forum (WBF), "Are we alone in the universe" that it dawned on me that Mercury had the right attributes to be the first place for life to appear in the Solar System.

So I started this thread to see if the scientific community had any information about it. The good people on the WBF were not that science orientated. OK biology is not that strong on Physforums either but I have come to enjoy being here, getting to know you guys as well.

I am looking for scientific evidence to either support or refute my hunch.

Wrong about what? Wrong about life starting on Mercury? I don't think so.

Wrong about the existence of "God" for a better word.

A power that inspires, that shows the future and the past. I don't know what it is but I am connected somehow. It is beyond normal understanding, that is why I call it "God".
That's why I don't mind being called a prophet, or false profit even, but put me to the test if you want. I can't guarantee success, for I don't know how to make it work, it is a gift, and I only get it when I am given it.

This is the Mercury thread not the tachyon one.

Appeals and controversies

The defence appealed Watson’s conviction, and the case went to the Court of Appeal in April and May 2000. Three Appeal Court judges heard submissions from both the prosecution and the defence, but decided there was no new evidence to recommend a second trial.[9] They disregarded the defence’s submission that the “two trip” theory had appeared “out of the blue” late in the trial.[9]
Questions have been raised about the manner of the police investigation, notably by Mike Kalaugher, who in 2001 published a book which was critical of the police methods used to obtain the conviction of Scott Watson, and by Keith Hunter, in a 2003 television documentary, and a 2006 book.
Having been turned down for an appeal to the Privy Council, Watson wrote to New Zealand’s Governor General in 2008, seeking advice as to obtaining a Royal Prerogative of Mercy. In 2009, the Ministry of Justice appointed Kristy McDonald QC to investigate the case as a result of Watson’s appeal to the Governor General.
A 2010 report by the Independent Police Conduct Authority cleared police of allegations by Keith Hunter and Chris Watson. It found the police investigation had fallen short of best practice in areas which "had no significant bearing on the outcome of the investigation". No evidence was found that would support Hunter's other claims.[10]

Scientists warn of sea-level dangers
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article....jectid=10802578

The Mercurii never had this problem, In the early days late protosun period there was plenty of ice but the melt was matched by evaporation and atmosphere loss. It was just the right amounts of water , drying evaporation "sunlight" or more correctly "proto-sunlight" to get the organic chemicals to the concentrations required for abiogenesis.

No just some young PhD students who want to look into the facts will do. I haven't given that aspect much thought to be honest. It is primarily a personal quest at this stage. To see if I can solve the riddle of Genesis to my satisfaction. If I did, I might write a book or an article after that. That is sometime in the distant future in lots of ways. It wasn't an easy challenge.
