I first heard this story on the evening news. While watching, there was an impressive graphic that showed the focus shift through the galaxy towards the SWEEPS star that was being discussed.

It was an animated graphic, and utterly fascinating. Does anybody know where I could find it? It was awesome. I would really like access again.

This story is quite a bit of fun. Because of the billions of stars in our galaxy, there are a billion cool stories.

The planet candidate with the shortest orbital period, named SWEEPS-10, swings around its star in 10 hours. Located only 740,000 miles from its star, the planet is among the hottest ever detected. It has an estimated temperature of approximately 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
