Just a thought, but I’m doing a fare amout of research at the moment which involves figuring out what a particular image is of.
What would be ideal is a Reverse Image Search (RIS) engine that would allow you to upload an image, which in turn would then show description results for what that image is of.
Surely with the growing number of stock image libraries online this could potentially be a reality, or have i missed something and this is already available.
Form a sore-eyed researcher.
Thanks.

Take a look at tineye.com
It is a reverse image search engine.

TinEye.com is not a solution to what a picture is of. It will just help you find a file that matches a particular image.

So if you upload a picture of the Eiffel Tower, TinEye won't tell you it's the Eiffel tower unless it has seen that exact same image file and that file has a good file name or URL associated with it.
