N O M
Has anyone else noticed the site being a tad buggy lately?

Bug 1
The report function doesn't seem to work. Earlier today I tried to report the "new member" Mashiach for being the return of the banned troll Imagination (also banned as Dr Strangelove and yet again banned as ConductingLight) and I got an error. That was from work, but the security there is pretty tight, so I just tried from home, same result.
The error I get is:
QUOTE
Mail Error!

SMTP protocol failure!
Host: (IP adress)
Return Code: 535
Return Msg: (IP adress) authentication failed
Board Error: Password not accepted from the server
Check your SMTP settings from the admin control panel
I can't see anything wrong with my settings.

Bug 2
Also, the sock-puppet Mashiach's profile says he has zero posts, yet he actually has three. Maybe the count is worthwile posts, then he'd stay on zero for several years.

Bug 3
I also noticed some guest member posts have been showing as duplicates. The content and even the post times are duplicated.

YES!, This has happened twice before in the past three days!

YEAH!

As a matter of fact, I tried to neg the member that (apparently) posted multiple threads, but didn't!

I could have sworn EVEN THE REPLIES TO THE THREADS WERE THE SAME!

Maybe the computers at physorg HQ have caught a virus!

Kindest regards

I can't see anything wrong with my settings.

I got that one after trying to send a PM, assumed it hadn't sent then got a reply the next day.

Very strange.

I'm getting it sometimes when I try to post, but the post actually does go through.
It's been going on for about a week now. (I also get it sometimes with PMs and every single time I try to report a post.)

Try this for fun: enter the forum but do not log-in. Then browse in guest mode for a while. Finally, try to log-in - result for me; the whole bloody screen locks up!

I have seen more errors than usual. Also, a thread I had posted on last night completely disappeared. Why I do not know, because I don't think there was anything about it that would cause a mod to delete it.

I actually got it when I posted this thread blink.gif

That's why I just noticed it, since I had been away for nearly a week.
Sapo
I've had SQL errors, smtp errors, one or two PHP white screens... All in the last week, I think, but fairly regularly.

You'd think a heads-up from the admins would be worth their trouble. dry.gif
"THEY"
I personally think the mods are killing the forum. It is only about 10 percent of what it used to be, and they don't care. Now its not operating right? "DAMM! Maybe they will finally leave if it doesn't work!"

Its broke and they aint fixin it!

This forum is dead, folks.

Admin here sucks. blink.gif
N O M
I just checked out the sock-puppet Mashiach. His post history now returns an error, which means all his posts have been deleted laugh.gif So maybe my reports did get through.

I got the following error message when attempting to post a new topic just a few moments ago:

Mail Error!

SMTP protocol failure!
Host: 208.122.9.200
Return Code: 535
Return Msg: 535 5.7.0 authentication failed
Board Error: Password not accepted from the server
Check your SMTP settings from the admin control panel

As a result, my new topic actually got posted twice. Oh well, I'll try to report it to the mods so they can delete one...hopefully, I'll get through.

EDIT: I just got the following error message when I tried to report my double thread to the mods:

Mail Error!

SMTP protocol failure!
Host: 208.122.9.200
Return Code: 535
Return Msg: 535 5.7.0 authentication failed
Board Error: Password not accepted from the server
Check your SMTP settings from the admin control panel

Well, alrighty then...
Sapo
Earlier today, I got three PMs from the same user, same message. One minute delivery time between each one, and three e-mail notifications to go with them. Later today I had one PM from another member, and no e-mail notification. I just happened to notice it.

The author of the first three reported that he was getting white screens upon posting, so he thought they didn't go through.

Isn't technology wonderful? sad.gif

PLEASE FIX IT, MODS!

This bug is why there is multiple entries for new threads. Nothing wrong with my settings I can find! blink.gif

unless this is sorted out, the board is going to be a mess when LHC collisions begin
philip347
Because abused goes on on this board, due to current administration ethics, they probably want to feign as if something was wrong with the feedback and they didn't know this?
Look at Abu Zagreb and the abuse they foisted there?
Sapo
Something has been sorted. smile.gif

I just posted and the refresh was amazing, as if it was a local address. I wonder if it has to to with the bandwidth the new server has? Or the number of concurrent threads? rolleyes.gif

Edit: Yep! That was it. There's only a few folks here.

Hmm.

I've been getting several errors when posting lately, other members have complained about this lately too. Duplicate threads also seem to be occuring frequently. I thought these bugs had been resolved unsure.gif

... and, has anyone else noticed that there's a lot of spam on physorg at the moment?
The mods don't seem to be removing it either.

Yeah, I can see why the dirty little spammers would think we at physorg would be interested in foot-fettish sites. blink.gif StevenA constantly has at least one of his feet in his mouth laugh.gif
