I need some hints on how to do the following

a) How could plate height be reduced by 1/3? What would happen to Optimal velocity under these conditions? What would happen to the number of theoretical plates for the same length of column

Have to use this equation H=B/u +Cu

b)For the above how can you maintain the same # of theoretical plate while reducing the plate height by 1/3
