There hasn't been one serious discussion of science on this forum worth mentioning in months.
I for one am amusing myself, for the most part. I've been getting my science fix in the real world, discussion science with (more like learning science froom half the time, but still) a few actual scientists. It's much more stimulating than what I find on physorg, but I still like this place. Plus, there's the odd foray into actual science to keep my interest. Every once in a while, a bitch-fest decends into a scientific discussion, when someone who knows what they're talking about weighs in.
This place is like a fart joke. You may feel a little guilty and immature about laughing, but it's still funny as hell.

Well mate, a few things are on hold at the moment. I'm looking after my mum who isn't well, and is used to having her family around her. I've come back to do the job, as is quite common amongst the Italians, so it means I can do my dooties here and various other projects from home, and entertain myself with what is in the minds of others. It's quite educational all round in its own way.
When my job here is done, it will probably open up another quite different chapter for the future.

As far as "the Italians" are concerned, I'm half Italian myself, as my mother was born and raised in Naples. My parents met when my father was an American soldier who was stationed in Italy during World War II. Anyhow, I hope your mom's condition improves. Take care.
