Ahem...
Key Excerpt from below
------------------------------
I said that high school students in terms of EQUATIONS & FORMULAS might be ahead of me mathematically, not in terms of understanding of concepts which is far more important.
------------------------------
Aside from there being no mention of exams in what you quoted, and aside from the fact that you are merely extending to the present a rather gross distortion dating back to several months ago, let me make it clear, Euler, I phrased what I wrote the way I phrased it in quite specific fashion and for quite specific reason.
It has nothing to do with me being dumb or an "idiot," Euler. Rather, your generation, as a generation (and I assume you are in your early 20's) is one I believe to be EXTREMELY gifted. If you read my essay "All Alone is All We Will One Day Once Have Been," about what I term the "Quick Generation," perhaps you will better understand, but I'm not banking on it.

Feel free to tell me I don't know the math, but PLEASE do not tell me I do not understand the concepts. And, by the way, if I LINK to something using a term, this does NOT mean I presume to know everything contained within the link, particularly where math and physics is involved.
As for the email I sent you, that you publicly called "inane," feel free to share it with Alphanumeric because he has suddenly gone quite suspicious on me. I did not say much more than that my father was tenured at 31 at Princeton (Economics) and that if you believed intelligence an inherited trait, then you might surmise that I am no dummy, since you have attacked my intelligence and one can not defend oneself on that account, especially publicly, without sounding like a dumba** I will add to that, that my mother was the first woman to drop out of Princeton because she was in the first class of female graduate students there, and she left to marry my father when he went off to teach in Africa...
So... feel free to call my mother a Grad school drop-out... as you insult my intelligence repeatedly based on a thoroughly limited perspective. I said that high school students in terms of EQUATIONS & FORMULAS might be ahead of me mathematically, not in terms of understanding of concepts which is far more important. So happens, my mother became a lawyer later... and I am the only one in my nuclear or extended family WITHOUT an advanced degree; and there is a reason for that and if you study up on the gifted you may learn a thing or two.
I also asked you, basically, to not be a part of the problem regarding censorship, which you are being 100% at the moment. And right here is a link to me PUBLICLY asking you as much with respect to me personally...

How do you propose to pass an exam that relies on knowledge you've admitted you don't have?
We can settle this immediately: I can provide you with a high school exam question that would take no more than a couple of minutes to answer. This gives you the chance to back up your statements and prove my assessment wrong (which is that your are a liar and an idiot).

I noticed that after the expulsion (after 5 warnings) of Dallas, Alpha and einstienear the forum has regained some sanity.
That's a coincidence, I noticed that after the expulsion of Mediocre-Minded, physicsguy, Millenium, Paulo Riven, cyborg1, Morpheus, bigmistakes, Terry Giblin, Zephir, Mirrorman, Imagination, Chris Rivos, soultechs, kaneda, Neo.noone, Atl5p and einsteinear the forum has regained some sanity too

Thank you Euler. One of these days I may take you up on it, but for now, the only test I will study for is the GRE's. I missed them last year for a variety of reasons, and the cost is having to wait another year to apply to grad school.
Best,
Raphie

You think you'd need to
study before being able to answer a maths question accessible to school children? That doesn't make any sense: you've claimed
here to be reading Polchinski's book. The perquisites to being able to understand
anything in that book are about 9yrs of intensive study beyond the level of question I'm willing to provide.
I'm beginning to think my assessment of you is fairly accurate...

I also used to be be almost fluent in Spanish, Euler, but I would have to study in rather serious manner to take a Spanish exam as most of the knowledge is "submerged" in the sense that it is not readily accessible to consciousness. You're too young to understand quite honestly. But let me try to give you an example. Here are Newton's three laws of motion:
I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors (as indicated by their symbols being displayed in slant bold font); in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.
III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr161/lect/hi...ewton3laws.htmlDo you REALLY think if someone can not tell you Newton's three laws of motion this means they do not understand the above-stated concepts? To be able to name a concept and to understand the concept are two very different modes of knowledge.
Yoiu are very amusing, truth be told.
Best,
Raphie
P.S. In many respects, mathematics is no less so a language than Spanish or Czech, Czech, incidentally being a language I yet still speak passably on a conversational level.

So are you reading Polchinski, or was that a lie? If you are reading said book, you wont need to study children's material...
Which is it?

I´m still laughing at you! Who is worse, the idiot-cranks, or the idiot-egotists who chat with them?
Bye-bye "TheDoc"; the latest sock-puppet-come-back to fail.
But, I see the original fool is back again.
Total loser(s)!
One thing at least. Since getting their rears spanked, there hasn't been anybody mouthing off like before. Even NOM straightened up a bit. (pun for the x-erect member)

Associating yourself with self-proclaimed "mafia" titles won´t make your testicles drop any faster. Your speck of knowledge means nothing without any skill at mastering your emotions.
I see you have mastered your emotions. Otherwise, you'd trouble yourself to mock those you claim to be above. Laudable, indeed.
