Anti-bacterial soaps, sprays, pills and under exposure by kids to infections are creating resistant strains of deadly pathogens. This is only one of several superbugs in the news of late and may be just media driven hyperbole to sell copy?
Are we killing off benificial organisms? Is our anticeptic world going to kill us?

C-diff, as it's known, has grown resistant to certain antibiotics that work against other colon bacteria. The result: When patients take those antibiotics, competing bacteria die off and C-diff explodes.

Mostly just the news trying to drum up sales. Superbugs have been around for awhile, just not widespread. As bad as it could be, the hospitals and such do a fair (not great) job of controlling infections.

On that note, my neighbor was out with his grandkids, riding bicycles, scratched his leg on the bumper of his truck. Blew it off, took a shower that night, no issue. next day leg got red and painful, blew it off again. Turned out he had one of the flesh eating bacteria that was very resistant to antibiotics. He almost died, then almost lost his leg. They managed to save it, but he spent a couple of weeks in the hospital being pumped full of every antibiotic known to man before they could knock it down..

Morale of story, clean your wounds quickly and thoroughly. and build your immune system up to where it can handle those diseases instead of bathing in the antibacterial soaps and such... (my opinion on this last part)

I agree with this and was the point of my OP. I think we, Americans particularly, are killing ourselves with antibacterial warfare and not allowing our bodies to build resistances.

Probiotic yoghurts/foodstuffs containing strains of Lactobacillus bacteria or Bifidobacteria are definitely worth considering - I speak from personal experience;
a few weeks ago I was suffering from acute sickness/really rotton guts (details denied, only available by request) which simply would not clear up, so I asked my wife to pop out and get me a few probiotic yoghurts, soon after she'd returned I forced a couple of tubs down, expecting the worst - Bingo!, next day I was all fine and peachy. biggrin.gif

Try colloidal silver, 10ppm, about 1oz/day for about a week, *then* the yogurt.

Collodal silver seems to work against virtually all pathogens, in my experience.

Readily available at most health food stores or over the internet.

>> Chronic inflammation of the intestine or stomach can damage DNA, increasing the risk of cancer, MIT scientists have confirmed.

Inflammation caused by infectious agents such as Helicobacter pylori and Hepatitis C is known to increase the risk of stomach and liver cancers, respectively. Researchers have long known that inflammation produces cytokines (immune response chemicals that encourage cell proliferation and suppress cell death), which can lead to cancer. >>>

the key word there is CHRONIC

if you have intesstinal bloating, excess acid production... chronic lower abdominal pain...
GET TREATMENT... change diet, massage area to relieve symptoms etc

Chronic low pathogenic intestinal parasites can case severe intestinal problems ove decades.... removal of your worm load could save your life.

Yes, it also works pretty well against humans too. You can tell which ones are abusing the colloidal silver because of the beautiful blue color their skin attains... unless it turns gray or black instead. Do a google search on argyria.

I'm quite familiar with the FDA's scare-tactic of "argyria", and the key word in your post is "abusing", which is why I specified "10ppm, 1oz./day for one week" in my post.

I've personally used nearly two gallons-worth of 10ppm colloidal silver, and it's worked on various pathogens that massive doses of some of the most powerful antibiotics failed to kill. My skin isn't even slightly gray/blue yet. At 10ppm, it'd take about 700gallons to do that, and the people who've given themselves argyria were making it themselves in concentrations far exceeding 10ppm and taking doses far in excess of anything I recommended.

If you're actually interested in what colloidal silver is capable of doing, try doing a google search on it. (I found out about it here, BTW.)
