$35 million for this new "inertial confinement" process is bargain basement. Compare it with the billions already spent on "magnetic confinement". Why do we have to wait 2 decades for it when it costs less than one CEOs annual pay?
Let"s stop work on magnetic confinement for a month and put the $50 million saved into testing this new fusion process. Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over expecting a new result". People, let"s drop the magnetic confinement research and try something new!!!
The inertial confinement design is getting simpler and more efficient the more they work on it. This has got to be a winner. With Magnetic confinement we are getting more and more complex the more we work on it, and getting further away from the goal of fusion.
Am I the only one who can see the big picture. This is so frustrating.
