Hi Guys

There may be a particular song which saw the world as you see it.

Mine is Telegraph road by dire straits...(Love over Gold)

I feel it is more of an artists canvas in song.

As what? What did you see the world as when you heard it?

If my ear is political, Bob Dylan was terrific. If social, Lou Reed. If scientific, Thomas Dolby ("Quantum Mechanics" is incredible, and "Gate to the Mind's Eye" is on youtube in its entirety!) Revolutionary? Thomas Dolby again, with "Dissident".

Profetic? Pink Floyyd and The Mutantes. (you never heard of them) (curiosity: there are very, very few American songs that ever realistically said anything about a future that did come to happen! Maybe I am just not familiar with them.)

Lovey dovey? Beatles. Sexy: Rolling Stones. Person to person talk: Chrissy Hynde.

Wasn't familiar with this Dire Straights tune you mentioned... Bad, bad ISeason!! (I came from the mines region.)

Hi IAMoraes

I'm Not surprised that you've not heard Telegraph Road. It is not a sharp as most of their popular tunes and is a comparable production to Queen's "Bohemien Rhapsody" or Pink Floyds "wish you were here".

It's idealism is a pathway into a wilderness blazed by a single man which became the road that a civilization followed. Mark Knoffler and crew use a great instrumental to paint a picture .
In fact the entire album is worth a listen. I must say that I was a fan of the album well before it was a commercial success after "Industrial disease" (which is much more upbeat) went to number one.

I must admit to being a bit of a hippy who had a busking brother in law . That style of music is/was a bit outdated even in my teens. Favorites are

Streets of London
House of the rising Sun

Very much like the style of Gwen Stefani (as a singing stylist) Great bod though! wink.gif

Have trouble with anything in the last twenty year (showing my years) as more than a good radio background noise.

I'm really enjoying a band called kyte at the moment. One of my office mates is friends with the keyboard player, or something...

That is just about the only reason I would stand her. biggrin.gif

I guess that's the reason a lot of different styles are out there. In the local band scene, a band can get support despite being mediocre until they find their feet.

The instrumental "Journey of the Sorcerer" always did it for me.

Music has the transformative ability to heal wounds, change lives, aid in idea formation, and help one create art. It can rewire foul thinking, make inspired, and cause an outlet for tears. It is an incredible and amazing medium for worlds.

here are a few places i have placed some favorite music:

My myspace account (some of you have seen) but it changes occasionally, as today:

http://myspace.com/DreamingTK

Imeem...a great place to discover new music, for instance if you like Kyte...input kyte, and if they are there...you will be "led to" to other bands with a similar 'atmosphere'.

My pagii pages! Lotsa music there, on some pages:

The Pink Floyd video on my myspace page, often brings me to near tears or brings them down, there seems to be something emotionally raw in it that touches me deeply.
