Hi guys,
I'm Matteo Sorci, a PhD student at EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology.
I'm conducting research on facial expression recognition and I have developed and
started a static facial expression evaluation web survey.Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post link here...but the link to the survey can be found by looking for Matteo Sorci in google and following the link to the "facial expression evaluation survey" on my web page.
In this survey we ask participants first of all to fill a socio-economic
form and then to annotate (choosing among a set of available human
expressions)
a certain number of images.
At the end of the survey we (hopefully) have a dataset created by a
population of real human observers, from all around the world,
doing different jobs, having different cultural backgrounds, ages and
gender, belonging to different ethnic groups, doing the survey
from different places (work, home, on travel ...).
This heterogeneity in the respondent population will give us the
opportunity to investigate what are (part of) the human factors
which play different roles in the perception of human expressions.
The analysis of the survey data will be able to provide insights for
Human-Computer Interaction applications.
Indeed, any prior model built on real data can be employed in order to
improve the design of an automatic human expression recognition system.
Until today more than 1800 participants took part to the survey for more than
41000 annotated images (real time update on these statistics is
available on my personal web page).
If this survey could interest you , you can help me in collecting more data by taking part to the survey (it doesn't take a lot of time!!!) and/or spreading the information!
Thank you in advance for your help.
Matteo
