Fine. here: peer reviews from a respectable source.
One of those is prescribed by my wife's MD. and he is not only an MD, but an endocrinologist. That substance is Ave, and it is peer reviewed, by medical facilities in the US and abroad, including:

CHICAGO -- A fermented wheat germ extract inhibits estrogen positive and estrogen negative breast cancer tumors better than the world's best selling cancer drug, Tamoxifen, according to research published this past weekend at the 2007 meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, ASCO. The compound, Avemar, has been extensively studied in many cell lines, animal tumor models, and several human clinical trials. In the current study, Andras Telekes, MD, Ph.D., head physician at the Hungarian National Institute of Oncology, and colleagues, implanted estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) and estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast tumors from humans and mouse cell lines into female mice and monitored tumor growth. They compared tumor growth in mice treated with Avemar alone, or treated with three of the most widely used and studied breast cancer drugs: Tamoxifen, Aromasin, or Arimidex, alone, and combinations of those drugs with Avemar. Against the mouse ER+ cell line, MXT, Avemar inhibited growth by 50%, Aromasin by 46.7%, Tamoxifen by 34% and Arimidex by 29.3%. Against the human ER+ cell line, T47T, Avemar inhibited growth by 49%, Tamoxifen 42%, Aromasin 25% and Arimidex 25%. Each agent was enhanced by 5 to 10% when combined with Avemar. Most effective was a combination of Aromasin and Avemar, inhibiting both the mouse and human derived ER+ breast tumors by 60%. Effects against estrogen receptor-negative (ER-) breast cancer were measured with the human derived, MDA-MB-231 cell line. Estrogen-blocking drugs are not effective against ER- breast cancers, so they were not tested in this tumor model. However, Avemar did inhibit the growth of the ER-negative MDA-MB-231 breast tumors significantly (52%), suggesting to researchers that the mechanism by which the extract works is different from that of the anti- estrogen drugs, and is independent of a breast tumor's estrogen receptor status. Avemar's efficacy against both ER+ and ER- tumor types suggests the compound's mechanisms of action against breast cancer may be those that inhibited tumor growth in other cancers, including lung, pancreatic, colon, melanoma, leukemia, and other breast cancer lines, among others, against which the compound has also been tested. Chief among these mechanisms is its ability to interfere with the excess use of glucose by cancer cells (the Warburg effect), which interferes with the synthesis of DNA needed for cell proliferation. Avemar is produced by Biromedicina, RT of Budapest, Hungary through a patented process (US no. 6,355,474) and standardized for content of methoxy- substituted benzoquinones. The Hungarian Ministry of Health has approved Avemar as a "medical food," with an on-label indication in the treatment of colorectal and other cancers. Avemar, distributed by Blauvelt, NY American BioSciences in the US as the dietary supplement Ave, is available nationwide through vitamin retailers, doctors, pharmacies. Avemar research is available via the National Library of Medicine website, using the search term Avemar.
So at least ONE meets those criteria. Is that Better?
And I will go so far as to say I am a dam* site better than you to judge that. My experience with cancer and research of standard western medical and alternative therapies is, in my opinion, much more robust than your own.
What would you like to know about standard western medical therapies for the following cancers?
Lung
Pancreatic
Breast
Would you like to know the expected lifespan for each? or how they use Taxotere as a front line treatment for all three? They also use Gemcitabine and Gemzar. These drugs are several years old with the same results used in various cocktails.
How about Taxol? Gemzar? Gemcitabine? 5-FU? Cisplatin, Epirubicin, and Fluorouracil, when used in combination buy a patient an extra few months? Xeloda. an oral medication. (which was rather stupid as the patient often can't digest anything when afflicted with pancreatic cancer. you see, the tumors close off the digestive system to the point where the patients own bile is returned) (vomitus).
So before you think I am just extracting crap off the shelf, you might want to ask first.

None of which addresses the original poster.
1) What bacteria is the OP subject to?
2) Why is the OP either extra-bacteria-ry or immuno-comprimised?
3) What drugs/treatments has the OP already been prescribed?
4) Why would Avemar, which interferes with human (cancer) cell division be anti-bacterial?
5) Why would Avemar, which may decrease immune response in auto-immune-disease patients be good for someone prone to bacterial infection?
6) Is the OP allergic or otherwise intolerant to the ingredients of Avemar?
Yes, your wife's doctor is an M.D. This does not make you an M.D.

Rather than fighting, I do think the OP should be specific about what sorts of infections he's concerned about. Different bugs need different drugs.

What if he just went to a doctor?

Moderator: How many times must I mention that you are not an M.D. You linked to a specific supplier of Colloidal Silver. There are significant medical risks to the use of such treatments. The "scientific" information on that website are largely mistaken, misleading or irrelevant. There is no medical information on that website. They have taken their "Proven safe for humans" page off-line.
There is no evidence that any preparation of colloidal silver is effective in vivo. http://nccam.nih.gov/health/silver/

What should people do who are considering or using colloidal silver?
Tell your health care providers about any complementary and alternative practices you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and safe care. This is especially important if you are pregnant, nursing a baby, or considering treating a child.

In general, medical research has questioned the value of supplements. Supplements appear to range in value; from no value to relatively dangerous. The best source of vitamins and minerals is attained from a proper diet (food). Even vitamin C supplements do not appear to be assimilated by the body. Fruits (and orange juice) are the best source of vitamin C.

Hi all,
i am looking for a good natural supplement/drug product that i can constantly use with some trust.I have been exposed to bacteria infections various times and now i am seeking for something that can act as a shield, while protecting me when i was infected.
Any suggestions?
thanks.
Hi,
Echinacea is found in nine varieties or species and it is the Echinacea purpurea variety that is believed to offer the greatest health benefits. This herbal supplement is commonly used to help with colds, flu’s and infections. It is effective at strengthening the immune system so that you become less susceptible to getting ill. It also contains many powerful antioxidants.
[Moderator: Ad deleted. Quit shilling for the supplement people.]
