The stronger members of the forum frequently post maths intended to address either a general point or a point made by another member.
I read posts made for the benefit of (say) Mazulu but often don't see what came next. Either I have to work through the point (which may not be of immediate interest to me) or (mostly) the point is lost.
To read someone (eg me) struggling with a point is potentially a thread-killer even if the point directly addresses the OP.
My suggestions:
1/ A junk thread(s) for maths which doesn't directly address the OP but has individual or general significance.
2/ Group the junk threads by none, one or more of topic/level/member name
3/ The junk posts should attempt to be reasonably self contained so anyone viewing (or helping) can immediately work out the context.
4/ The junk posts may (or may not) spawn their own thread.
